Education program

Millions of South Sudanese children lack access to education – a crisis with far-reaching consequences. Without schooling, girls face increased risks of early marriage, while boys become vulnerable to exploitation and recruitment by armed groups.

The Wonderland Development Agency (WDA) is committed to breaking this cycle, advocating for education as the foundation of a brighter future.

Challenges

A staggering 3.1 million children require educational support

Out-of-school children, especially those in nomadic communities, miss out on the transformative power of education.

Lack of education puts girls at particular risk of early marriage and limits their potential.

Boys without access to school are more likely to be exploited or join armed groups.

WDA's Approach:

  • Advocacy: We champion the right to education for all children, working to increase enrollment and keep children in school.
  • Material Support: Providing essential learning materials, teaching supplies, and recreational items for students and educators.
  • Inclusive Learning: “Back to Learning” campaigns and girl-focused awareness programs tackle barriers to education.
  • Infrastructure: Building and rehabilitating classrooms and WASH facilities to create safe, welcoming learning environments.
  • Empowering Educators: Offering training to teachers, parent-teacher associations, and school management committees to ensure high-quality education.

Impact:

WDA’s Education program aims to change lives and shape South Sudan’s future:

  • Children gain the tools to build better lives for themselves and their communities.
  • Girls are empowered with knowledge and choices, unlocking their potential.
  • Boys find positive alternatives to violence and exploitation.
  • Communities gain a skilled, capable future generation.

The Wonderland Development Agency believes every child deserves a chance to learn. Our education program is an investment in South Sudan’s youth – an investment in resilience, peace, and progress.
